Argentina football legend Diego Maradona undergoes a second gastric bypass operation due to being 11 stone overweight.

Argentina football legend Diego Maradona has undergone a second gastric bypass operation in order to tackle his weight problems.

The 55-year-old had the same surgery a decade ago, but required the operation again due to being 11st 11lbs over his ideal weight.

"He told me he was feeling fine, that he wasn't in any pain," BBC Sport quotes Dr Carlos Felipe Chaux as saying.

The former footballer, who won the World Cup with Argentina in 1986, will remain in the Venezuelan city of Maracaibo for around eight days before travelling to Caracas.
