A dozen masked men have allegedly attacked a group of Aberdeen fans ahead of this evening's Europa League tie against Siroki Brijeg, leaving two in need of treatment.

Two Aberdeen supporters have been treated for injuries in Bosnia after reportedly being attacked ahead of their side's Europa League meeting with Siroki Brijeg.

BBC Sport reports that around 50 fans were subjected to unprovoked attacks in the old town area of Mostar on Wednesday, despite being promised "maximum security" by authorities.

A dozen masked men launched the attack, allegedly using baseball bats and metal bars as weapons.

Roughly 200 supporters are said to have made the journey for the second-leg tie, which is poised at 1-1 following last week's opening 90 minutes at Pittodrie Stadium.

Siroki were made to play three games behind closed doors earlier this year after fans chanted fascist slogans during a league game in May.
