Tyrrell Hatton equals course record at St Andrews to open up commanding lead

Tyrrell Hatton makes up a three-shot deficit on midway point leader Ross Fisher to take a healthy lead into the final day of the Dunhill Links Championship at St Andrews.

Tyrrell Hatton has posted a third-round 62 to equal the course record at St Andrews and open up a three-shot lead at the top of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship standings.

The Englishman fired a total of 10 birdies across the 18 holes and did not drop a shot, as he overtook midway point leader Ross Fisher heading into the final day.

Fisher remains Hatton's closest challenger, with a round of 69 leaving him on 14-under at Carnoustie - one stroke ahead of Joakim Lagergren and Richard Sterne who are also still in contention.

Marc Warren leads the Scottish charge on home soil, ending Saturday's session on 11-under for the tournament after a third-round 67, while German duo Martin Kaymer and Florian Fritsch are in the mix on 12-under.
