Five-time Open Championship winner Peter Thomson has died at the age of 88.
Thomson passed away at his Melbourne home on Wednesday after a four-year battle with Parkinson's disease.
The golfer was elected to the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1988 to recognise his notable achievements in the sport.
He was the only man to win the Open Championship three consecutive years in the 20th century.
Aside from his achievements as a player, Thomson was also president of the Australian PGA for 32 years and was involved in the establishment of the Asian Tour.
