Marcus Ericsson handed three-place grid penalty at Italian Grand Prix

Sauber's Marcus Ericsson is given a three-place grid penalty for impeding Nico Hulkenberg during qualifying for the Italian Grand Prix.

Marcus Ericsson has been handed a three-place grid penalty at the Italian Grand Prix.

The Sauber driver impeded Nico Hulkenberg of Force India during the second qualifying session and stewards immediately investigated the incident.

The grid penalty means that Ericsson will now start in 13th place.

The 25-year-old has also been given two points on his superlicence and is now five points away from a one-race ban.
