F1 legend Alain Prost says that if he were looking to replace Kimi Raikkonen at Ferrari, he would choose a young Spaniard.

Formula 1 legend Alain Prost has said that if he were looking to replace Kimi Raikkonen at Ferrari, he would choose a young Spaniard.

Prost, the famous quadruple world champion, said that in Max Verstappen's "shadow" for most of his impressive F1 career so far has been Carlos Sainz.

"I would like to see how he develops in a top team," Prost told Minute-Auto.fr.

When asked who Ferrari should turn to if Raikkonen is to be ousted, the 61-year-old said: "I think Sainz. It is always a question of balance and who would work well with [Sebastian Vettel], but I'd choose Sainz."

The 2016 championship continues with tomorrow's Canadian Grand Prix.
