Wolverhampton Wanderers announce the signing of Dutch striker Paul Gladon from Heracles on a three-year deal.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have announced the signing of Dutch striker Paul Gladon from Heracles for a fee reported to be in the region of £1m.

The 24-year-old was reportedly spotted yesterday at the Championship club's Compton Park training ground.

Now, Wolves have confirmed that the deal has been finalised, with Gladon signing a three-year deal with an option for a further year.

The forward's arrival in the West Midlands marks the first time that he has played outside of the Netherlands having had his breakthrough at Sparta Rotterdam before spells at FC Dordrecht and Heracles.

"I'm very happy to be a Wolves player," Gladon told the club's official website. "I'm very impressed with the facilities. The difference between here and the Netherlands is big. It's fantastic. I spent some time at the stadium yesterday and it looks fantastic. I can't wait for our first home game. It was an easy decision to make to come here. The people are very nice, it's a good club for me to be at and I'm very happy with it.

"I'm a striker that likes to work hard, I think my speciality is heading the ball. Hopefully the supporters will see what my qualities are. I've been asked to do my best for the club, to work hard. There are a lot of matches in the season so there will be chances and I hope to be important for the club.

"In my eyes, England is the country of football and if you can play there then it's fantastic. Of course I would like to play in the Premier League, it's the first league in England. I hope we can be promoted to the Premier League this year."

Gladon scored four times in 24 appearances for Heracles.
