Andrea Butti to be named Wolverhampton Wanderers technical director?

Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly poised to name Monaco's Andrea Butti as their new technical director.

Andrea Butti is reportedly poised to be named as the new technical director at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Italian - currently deputy technical director at Ligue 1 side AS Monaco - will join countryman Walter Zenga, who replaced Kenny Jackett as the Championship side's manager yesterday.

Butti, who has also worked at Inter Milan, was spotted at Molineux yesterday as Wolves fell to a 4-0 pre-season defeat to Premier League side Swansea City.

According to Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Butti will play "an important role" as Wolves seek a speedy return to the Premier League under new Chinese owners Fosun International.
