Wolfsburg attacker Julian Draxler says that his team "enjoyed every minute" of their Champions League quarter-final first leg win over Real Madrid.

Wolfsburg attacker Julian Draxler has said that his team "enjoyed every minute" of their Champions League quarter-final first leg against Real Madrid on Wednesday night.

First-half goals from Ricardo Rodriguez and Maximilian Arnold saw the German outfit win 2-0 on home soil to leave Real Madrid with work to do in the second leg in Madrid next week.

Draxler, who joined Wolfsburg from Schalke 04 last summer, has branded the result "really good", but is under no illusions as to the difficulty of the task at the Bernabeu in the return fixture.

"We really enjoyed every minute of the game. It was really good for us," Draxler told BT Sport.

"We know that we can play football, but we are not on Real Madrid's level. I am really proud of the team and I hope that we can manage the same game next week in Madrid."

Real Madrid have now lost 19 of their 29 European fixtures on German soil.
