West Ham United reportedly consider dropping their interest in Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho to pursue a move for Porto's Danilo Pereira.

West Ham United are reportedly considering dropping their interest in Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho in order to pursue a move for Porto's Danilo Pereira.

Last week, it was claimed that West Ham were closing in on a £25m move for Carvalho, who has been consistently linked with the Premier League over the last couple of years.

However, according to The Mirror, the deal has hit a stumbling block over Sporting's increased demands.

The report claims that West Ham still want to sign Carvalho, but will switch their attention to his Portugal teammate Danilo if Sporting refuse to sanction a deal before the end of the week.

Danilo, who has previously been linked with a move to Arsenal, has scored 10 league goals in 61 appearances for Porto.
