West Ham United midfielder Mark Noble says that his side's 3-2 win over Manchester United on their final appearance at Upton Park was "written in the stars".

West Ham United midfielder Mark Noble has said that he was "proud" of his teammates after the Hammers staged a late comeback to see off Manchester United.

Slaven Bilic's men were trailing 2-1 with 14 minutes remaining before Michail Antonio and Winston Reid found the net to see the East London outfit end life at Upton Park in style.

Noble once again played a starring role in the centre of midfield, and the skipper feels that the dramatic win for his team was "written in the stars".

After the game, the 29-year-old told Sky Sports News: "I think tonight was written in the stars. We scored three fantastic goals and it was pure determination and the will not to lose.

"We fought hard because Manchester United are a great team, they make you run a lot, but I am so proud of the players because they were phenomenal tonight."

The result for West Ham has taken the club into sixth position in the Premier League table, just one point adrift of United.
