Wednesday's Championship predictions including Sheffield Wednesday vs. West Brom

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Wednesday's Championship action, including Sheffield Wednesday vs. West Bromwich Albion.

Preston vs. Derby (Wednesday, 5.00pm)

Preston North End and Derby County square off at Deepdale on Wednesday evening with the teams locked on the same points in the Championship table.

Despite their contrasting recent form, the sides begin the week sitting three points adrift of Cardiff City, who occupy the final playoff spot.

We say: Preston North End 1-2 Derby County

While Preston may rediscover some form during the run-in, we do not expect it to be during their next game. Derby are impressing observers on a week-by-week basis, and that should continue on Wednesday evening.

Birmingham vs. Huddersfield (Wednesday, 6.00pm)

Birmingham City welcome Huddersfield Town to St Andrew's on Wednesday evening with the opportunity to move 10 points clear of the Championship relegation zone.

On the back of three successive defeats, the Terriers travel to the West Midlands knowing that a further setback will leave them facing an uphill battle to avoid dropping into League One.

We say: Birmingham City 2-1 Huddersfield Town

At some stage, Huddersfield are likely to get back on track. However, despite the quality and experience which Cowley has at his disposal, we feel that a hard-working performance from the home side will get the job done on Wednesday night.

Nott'm Forest vs. Bristol City (Wednesday, 6.00pm)

Bristol City will be looking to get their Championship promotion prospects back on track when they travel to Nottingham Forest on Wednesday evening.

The Robins have lost back-to-back matches since the restart and are now down in 12th, whereas Forest have taken four points from six to bolster their top-six hopes.

We say: Nottingham Forest 1-1 Bristol City

City may be badly out of form, but they tend to do well in this fixture. Forest also struggle when it comes to stringing together victories, so we are tipping this one to finish all square.

Sheff Weds vs. West Brom (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

The pressure is starting to build on second-placed West Bromwich Albion as they prepare for their midweek trip to Sheffield Wednesday.

Slaven Bilic's side are winless in four Championship matches and are now just five points clear of the chasing pack, while Wednesday have moved up to 13th after making a positive start on their return to action.

We say: Sheffield Wednesday 0-1 West Bromwich Albion

West Brom are winless in their last four league games, having won five of their six in the Championship beforehand, and are in need of a morale-boosting victory to keep them at arm's length from the chasing pack.

Wednesday have used the three-month hiatus to their advantage, meanwhile, but this will be a tough match to take anything from.
