Success, 22, has committed himself to the Hornets for five more years.

Watford forward Isaac Success has signed a new long-term contract.

Success, 22, has committed himself to the Hornets for five more years in a deal which runs up until 2023, the Premier League club announced on Thursday afternoon.

Watford chairman and chief executive officer Scott Duxbury said on the club’s website: “This is a just reward for Isaac’s continued hard work and application this season.

“We look forward to seeing him develop further over the coming years.”

Success joined Watford from Granada during July 2016 for what was then a club-record fee of around £12.75million.

The 22-year-old has scored three goals in six starts so far this season.

The news of Success’ contract extension follows on from manager Javi Gracia signing a new four-and-a-half-year deal.

Watford are ninth in the Premier League table and will look to respond from last weekend’s 3-0 defeat at Liverpool when they travel to Leicester on Saturday.

Gracia has settled well since arriving at Vicarage Road last January to replace Marco Silva, guiding the Hornets to Premier League safety.

Watford opened the new campaign with five straight wins in all competitions, and Gracia, who has an option of a further three years on his new deal, sees no reason not to stay positive for progression.

“I’m delighted with the signing of the new contract. I feel comfortable here in this environment with all the people working at this club, with the owners, with the players,” Gracia said.

“I am happy to stay here. I am proud to belong to this club, our club. I have the feeling I am part of this family and I like to be here.”

The former Malaga and Rubin Kazan boss added: “I prefer we don’t put a limit on the club or this team because I prefer to show day-by-day what we are able to do.

“It’s important the next step is to try to improve, but the best way to improve is by focusing on the next day, the next game. This way we are able to achieve something different with the players we have.

“We can improve our best position in the league and we will try to do it. We’ll see. With this mentality we can achieve something good for the club.

“We have a very good squad and I would like to keep all these players to build up something special.”

Watford expect to have left-back Jose Holebas available again following a calf problem, but Venezuela forward Adalberto Penaranda has a foot issue so will not be involved.
