Result: Wales earn draw in Belgium

Wales continue their strong start to Euro 2016 qualifying with a 0-0 draw in Belgium.

Wales have continued their fine start to Euro 2016 qualifying with a goalless draw away to Group B rivals Belgium.

A closely-contested opening came to life on 14 minutes when Gareth Bale's fizzing free kick was kept out by goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

Belgium soon began to build possession and they had a glorious chance to take the lead midway through the half as Nacer Chadli was put through on goal, but the midfielder's effort was kept out from point-blank range by Wayne Hennessey.

The hosts came close again soon after, but Nicolas Lombaerts's drive came back off the woodwork before Kevin De Bruyne threatened with a free kick towards the end of the half.

Both team's came out attacking after the break, though it was Wales who carved out the first chance of the second period when Bale's effort flashed inches wide of the post.

The opportunities continued to flow as the game started to become more stretched, but Neil Taylor's tame shot hardly troubled Courtois before De Bruyne dragged his attempt wide from 25 yards.

The Belgians began to push hard for a decisive goal during the final 15 minutes as Dries Mertens volleyed over, Adnan Januzaj had a shot cleared off the line and Christian Benteke had a header clawed away by Hennessey, but Wales were able to hold on for a share of the spoils.
