Veteran boss Luigi Delneri takes charge of Hellas Verona less than 24 hours after Andrea Mandorlini was relieved of his duties.

Luigi Delneri has been confirmed as the new head coach of Serie A outfit Hellas Verona.

The 65-year-old has replaced Andrea Mandorlini, who was sacked yesterday evening following a five-year stint at the Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi helm.

"I thank the club for the opportunity they have given me, I was really missing football," Delneri told reporters at his unveiling press conference this afternoon.

"Verona is a great place and the club can be proud of its brilliant support. The first thing that I must work on above all is the squad's mental state."

The veteran boss has previously managed a host of clubs, including Porto, Roma and Juventus.
