Result: Valencia's winless run continues at home to Eibar

Valencia's winless run stretches to a fourth match as they fail to break down Eibar in a goalless draw at the Mestalla.

Valencia have missed out on the chance to make certain of a top-four spot in La Liga, having been held to a goalless draw at home to Eibar.

Los Che could not find a way through from any of their 15 attempts at the Mestalla, meaning that Real Betis - 11 points further back with four games to play - can still catch them for the final Champions League berth.

Valencia have now collected just two points from the last 12 on offer in a four-match winless run stretching back nearly a month.

The first chance of the evening fell the way of Santi Mina, who headed the ball straight at Yoel from a good position.

Rodrigo got in behind soon after but his shot from inside the area zipped just shy of the far post, as an Eibar side with one win in their last eight were made to hold on.

Yoel was again needed to keep out a cross from Jose Luis Gaya that turned into a shot, before Neto was called into action at the other end with a smart stop.

Valencia were having the better chances as the match entered the second half, with Goncalo Guedes the latest to come close with a weak shot, and the Portuguese winger wriggled into some space on the edge of the box moments later before blasting over.

Then, after Rodrigo failed to find a way past Yoel, Simone Zaza did find the net, only for the linesman to put up his flag for offside.

The final opportunity of the match fell to Rodrigo, who was once again wayward to see the points shared.

EIBAR (4-2-3-1): Yoel; Lomban, Oliveira, Angel, Pena; Diop (Escalante 72'), Garcia (Jordan 49'); Inui (Elejo 84'), Orellana, Pedro Leon; Kike
