Result: USA hit back to hold Panama

Michael Bradley earns the USA a 1-1 draw against Panama to ensure they remain unbeaten in the Gold Cup quarter-final stage.

Michael Bradley's equaliser has earned the USA a 1-1 draw against Panama in their final CONCACAF Gold Cup group game.

Panama, who needed a victory to clinch second spot ahead of Haiti, started brightly but were denied an opening goal when Luis Tejada strayed into an offside position before finishing calmly.

The Americans were given another scare when a corner deflected off Chris Wondolowski, but Brad Guzan reacted impressively to keep the ball out as Panama continued to search for the opening goal.

However, Guzan was powerless to prevent the deadlock from being broken before the interval as Tejada drifted out wide to deliver a cross which Blas Perez tapped home from close range.

Jurgen Klinsmann's side piled on the pressure either side of the interval as the hosts looked to recover from a sluggish start, and the decision to bring on Clint Dempsey and DeAndre Yedlin proved to be a good one as the USA started the second half on top.

It was Dempsey who started the move for the equaliser as he linked up with Gyasi Zardes to find Alejandro Bedoya, whose cross was converted by Michael Bradley.

Despite dominating possession after getting back on level terms, the USA struggled to create clear chances and Panama threatened to regain the lead when Miguel Camargo's low strike was pushed away by Guzan.

The best chance to win the game late on fell to John Brooks, who headed wide from a Bradley corner as the Group A winners settled for a draw ahead of their quarter-final, while Panama must wait to learn if they have done enough to progress.
