Ukraine boss Mikhail Fomenko insists that his side still have plenty of work to do to secure their place at Euro 2016 despite their 2-0 win over Slovenia.

Ukraine boss Mikhail Fomenko has called for his players to complete the job in the second leg of their Euro 2016 playoff against Slovenia following their 2-0 victory on Saturday.

Andriy Yarmolenko and Yevhen Seleznyov fired their side to victory at the Arena Lviv to hand Fomenko's men control of the tie, but the 67-year-old is adamant that his team have not sealed their place in the competition yet.

Fomenko told reporters: "We have won the first half of our tie, and I am delighted with the clean sheet, but now we should prepare for the second. Tuesday's game will be the final decisive one.

"After the first goal we made some mistakes, individual mistakes – maybe my players started to relax. It's a bit disappointing that we didn't get the third goal, but saying that we didn't concede either.

"Now we need to calm down. Our players know what they have to do in the second leg."

The second leg takes place in Maribor on Tuesday.
