Trabzonspor to play behind closed doors after Fenerbahce violence

Trabzonspor are ordered to play four games behind closed doors as a result of the crowd violence that saw their Super Lig game at Fenerbahce abandoned.

Trabzonspor have been ordered to play their next four home games behind closed doors after a fan attacked an assistant referee during a Super Lig match against Fenerbahce last month.

The club has also been fined £220,000 by Turkey's football federation following the incident, where a Trabzonspor supporter jumped over the barrier at the front of the stand and attacked goal-line official Volkan Bayarslan late in the game.

The match had to be abandoned as visiting fans also pulled down safety netting at the front of their stand.

Fener were leading 4-0 at the time and that is the scoreline they have been awarded, despite the match being abandoned.

Fenerbahce's Luis Nani celebrates after scoring a goal during the Europa League football match between Fenerbahce and Molde on September 17, 2015 at the Ulker Fenerbahce Sukru saracoglu stadium in istanbul.
