Premier League side Swansea City reportedly have an eye on Hull City midfielder Sam Clucas and have approached the Tigers over a potential move.

Swansea City have approached Hull City with a view to signing midfielder Sam Clucas, according to reports.

The 26-year-old was one of the Tigers' most consistent performers last season, but could not prevent his side from making an immediate return to the Championship.

Hull manager Leonid Slutsky has made it well known that he sees Clucas as crucial in their battle for promotion back to the Premier League, reportedly rejecting two Burnley bids for the player.

However, Sky Sports News now claims that, just a few hours after the Clarets were quoted £20m for Clucas, the Swans have stepped in with a view to signing a replacement for Gylfi Sigurdsson.

The Iceland international left the Liberty Stadium for Everton earlier this week for a fee believed to be in the region of £45m, and Clucas is seemingly being viewed as a like-for-like replacement.

Clucas joined Hull from Chesterfield in 2015 and has since featured 96 times for the club, scoring nine times.
