Swansea City manager Paul Clement describes his side's late defeat to West Ham United as "a little harsh".

Swansea City manager Paul Clement has described his side's last-gasp defeat at West Ham United today as "a little harsh".

A 90th-minute effort from Hammers striker Diafra Sakho was all that separated the two struggling sides at the London Stadium in a game of scant real chances for either team.

The result saw the Swans drop into the bottom three and extended their winless league run to four games heading into the international break.

"We just did not defend that last attack very well," Clement told BBC Sport. "I thought we were the better team in the first half by a mile, without creating anything. I think the result was a little harsh in that I don't think that they weren't better than us as such.

"They created a really good scoring chance which is what we didn't do. We did not stop the cross coming in, did not defend it in the box and if you concede that late you do not give yourself much chance.

"A combination of the delivery and the movement need to be better in the final third. We are closer to getting the balance right, but there is still work to be done.

"We have a massive game against Huddersfield after the international break and we have to concentrate on that."

Clement's side welcome the Terriers to the Liberty Stadium in 14 days' time.
