Gateshead have announced that George Honeyman has agreed to remain on loan with the club until January 2.
The Sunderland midfielder has made three appearances for the National League outfit following his arrival last month.
He was due to return to the Stadium of Light in the near future, but the 21-year-old has now secured a deal at the Gateshead International Stadium until early next year.
Honeyman made his debut for the Premier League Black Cats during a FA Cup tie away at Bradford City last season.
