New Sunderland manager David Moyes is reportedly considering hiring Gary Neville as his assistant.

David Moyes is reportedly considering appointing Gary Neville as his assistant at Sunderland.

According to the Sunday Express, the former Manchester United and Everton boss has 'identified Neville as a potential right-hand man' following his exit from the England coaching setup.

Neville stepped down from his role as assistant manager of the national side after their disastrous showing at Euro 2016, a tournament which also spelled the end of Roy Hodgson's tenure in the top job.

Just three months earlier, Neville was sacked as manager of Valencia as the La Liga giants flirted with relegation from the Spanish top flight.

Moyes, who too had an ill-fated spell in Spain with Real Sociedad, took over at the Black Cats on Saturday after Sam Allardyce was named as Hodgson's England replacement.
