Tottenham Hotspur are confident that Son Heung-min will pen a new long-term deal with the club, according to a report.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly confident that Son Heung-min will sign a new contract at the club.

The South Korea international is enjoying another impressive campaign for Spurs, scoring 16 times and registering eight assists in 25 appearances in all competitions.

Son has a contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium until June 2023, but Jose Mourinho's side are said to be keen to sign the 28-year-old to a new and improved long-term deal due to his importance.

According to The Telegraph, Tottenham are becoming increasingly confident that the attacker will pen fresh terms at the club despite suggestions of interest from Real Madrid.

Spurs are believed to have placed discussions on hold for the moment as they come to terms with the financial impact of the coronavirus outbreak.

However, securing Son's future is allegedly a top priority for the club's chairman Daniel Levy, and the former Hamburger SV youngster is also said to be keen to extend his stay in North London.
