Tottenham Hotspur reportedly make a bid of £15m for Borussia Dortmund defender Matthias Ginter.

Borussia Dortmund defender Matthias Ginter has reportedly attracted a transfer bid from Tottenham Hotspur.

Despite their excellent record at the back last season, Spurs head coach Mauricio Pochettino is looking to strengthen in the area as he prepares to mount a challenge in four competitions during the next campaign.

Earlier this month, it was claimed that the German international could be on Pochettino's radar and according to Bild, the North Londoners have backed up their initial interest.

It has been suggested that Spurs have lodged a bid of £15m in an attempt to sign the 23-year-old, who made 45 appearances in all competitions in Thomas Tuchel's second year in charge.

However, with Tuchel leaving the club earlier this month, Ginter could now be made available for transfer, and Spurs are ready to bring him to the Premier League.

While primarily a defender, the former Freiburg man can also play in central midfield.
