Massimiliano Allegri is reportedly ready to take the Tottenham Hotspur job should Mauricio Pochettino opt to leave the club in the near future.

There are growing concerns that the Argentine could leave North London amid a difficult run of form which has seen Spurs lose two of their first six league games and crash out of the EFL Cup to League Two side Colchester United.

Although Spurs supremo Daniel Levy is keen to keep Pochettino, who signed a new £8.5m-a-season contract at the start of last season, The Sun reports that Allegri has made it clear that he is available.

The Italian has been a free agent since leaving Juventus at the end of last season, where he won five Serie A titles and reached the Champions League final on two occasions.

Allegri has also been heavily linked with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's job at Manchester United, while Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers is known to have his admirers at Tottenham.
