Result: Tottenham Hotspur see Premier League title hopes falter with West Brom draw

Leicester City are three points away from the Premier League title after Tottenham Hotspur draw 1-1 with West Bromwich Albion.

West Bromwich Albion defender Craig Dawson has netted at either end to earn his side a 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur, a result which severely dents Spurs' ambitions of winning the Premier League ahead of Leicester City.

With a win required to realistically keep their title hopes alive, Spurs attacked from the off and they would have taken the lead as early as the seventh minute had it not been for a stunning save from Boaz Myhill, who tipped Harry Kane's shot onto the post after he had exchanged passes with Dele Alli.

Spurs hit the woodwork for the second time inside the first 15 minutes when Christian Eriksen's free kick clipped the top of the crossbar before Myhill had to be alert to tip a 20-yard drive from Kane around the post.

Craig Gardner wasted a chance for West Brom on the half-hour mark after being set up by Dawson and minutes later, the defender would contribute to his team falling behind after the ball ricocheted off his leg and into the net after he tussled with Jan Vertonghen at a set piece.

Spurs pushed for a second before half time but they were perhaps lucky to keep 11 men on the field after Kyle Walker kicked out at Salomon Rondon following a battle for the ball on the touchline.

West Brom started the second half well but shortly before the hour, they were fortunate not to concede a second after Eriksen found Erik Lamela with the Argentine diverting the ball onto the post from 10 yards.

The reprieve boosted the visitors and after Rondon had headed wide of the near post and witnessed Hugo Lloris pull off an intervention from a half-volley, they equalised with 17 minutes left on the clock.

A corner delivered from the left found Dawson, who got above Eric Dier and ahead of a flapping Lloris to head the ball into the middle of the net from six yards.

Spurs' supporters expected their side to lay siege to the West Brom goal but a response never materialised, with West Brom going closest through a Stephane Sessegnon effort into the side-netting and Vertonghen denying Jonas Olsson at the back post.

Five minutes were added on at the end of normal time but West Brom held firm to leave Leicester with the chance to seal the title when they face Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
