Mauricio Pochettino insists that he is not interested in taking on the Argentina job as he is "happy" at Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has claimed that he has no desire to become the head coach of Argentina.

Last week, it was reported that his homeland's football association planned to hold talks with Pochettino and Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone.

Argentina began their search for a new coach when Gerardo Martino resigned earlier this month after losing to Chile in the Copa America final.

Pochettino, who won 20 caps for his country during his playing days, has ruled out the possibility of taking charge as he intends to continue his role at White Hart Lane.

"I think the speculation is normal because I am an Argentinian coach at a top club in England," Pochettino told reporters. "There a lot of rumours that appear in the media but I am happy at Tottenham and for that reason this is not the right moment."

The 44-year-old is under contract to Spurs until 2021.
