Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino says that he questioned himself after his side lost to AS Monaco in the Champions League in midweek.

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino has said that there cannot be a repeat of how his side lost out to AS Monaco in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Spurs conceded two soft goals in the opening 31 minutes as they suffered a 2-1 defeat at Wembley Stadium, and Pochettino has revealed that he questioned his team talk after being dealt a setback on their return to European football's premier competition.

The 44-year-old is quoted by Sky Sports News as saying: "I look at myself too. Maybe I didn't know how to give them motivation to play on Wednesday night in the Champions League.

"Maybe I put myself in question too. We share responsibility but we cannot repeat. You can lose, not play well, but never concede two goals how we conceded."

"When we wait six years, a long time to play Champions League, after 45 minutes you can't go to the changing room with this feeling."

Spurs will hope to return to winning ways when they host Sunderland at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
