Jose Mourinho sets an unwanted personal points record following Tottenham Hotspur's 2-1 defeat to West Ham United in Sunday's London derby.

Jose Mourinho has set an unwanted personal record following his side's 2-1 defeat to West Ham United on Sunday afternoon.

The Champions League-chasing Hammers struck through Michail Antonio and Jesse Lingard before Lucas Moura's header threatened a Spurs comeback, but David Moyes's men ultimately held on for the win.

Speculation over the Portuguese's future in North London is rife after Tottenham's latest defeat - their fifth in six Premier League outings - and ninth-placed Spurs are now nine adrift of the Champions League places.

Sunday's derby was Mourinho's 50th top-flight match in charge of the Lilywhites, and in that time he has amassed 81 points - the lowest tally from any of his managerial ventures.

Mourinho's previous lowest points tally after 50 games was 95 with Manchester United, and the eight defeats that his team have already suffered in the 2020-21 Premier League is the Portuguese's most since the 2015-16 season with Chelsea, where he lost nine before being sacked.

The former Chelsea and Man United boss is the new bookmakers' favourite to lose his job, while Leicester City's Brendan Rodgers has allegedly been identified as a leading candidate for the Tottenham hotseat.
