Newcastle United defender Danny Rose is full of praise for the Magpies and their fans, with the left-back currently on loan at Tyneside from Tottenham Hotspur.

Danny Rose has revealed that he is loving life at "massive club" Newcastle United.

The 29-year-old, who is on loan at Tyneside from Tottenham Hotspur, could be set for his first start in front of the St James' Park faithful this weekend as Newcastle take on Burnley, and has been full of praise for the Magpies and their fans since his arrival.

Speaking to The Chronicle, Rose said: "It's a massive club. I have so many memories of the club growing up. My first memory of Newcastle is when they beat Manchester United 5-0 and Philippe Albert chipped Peter Schmeichel. I also remember the famous Kevin Keegan interview.

"As a football fan growing up I watched the 1999 FA Cup final with the team Alan Shearer played in. I watched Shearer scored so many great goals, Alan Shearer scoring a banger against Everton at the Gallowgate End. I am just a huge football fan.

"When I was at Tottenham I was left out the squad and I sat amongst the fans. The atmosphere for me is no surprise up here.

"Some people may not like it, but I managed to play for Sunderland and now Newcastle. But it is such a privilege for me (to be at NUFC)."

Bruce's side currently sit 14th in the Premier League table, having only won one of their previous six games.
