Tottenham Hotspur team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Brentford

Sports Mole rounds up all of Tottenham Hotspur's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Tuesday's EFL Cup semi-final with Brentford.

Tottenham Hotspur continue their bid for silverware on Tuesday evening as they square off against Brentford in the EFL Cup semi-finals.

Despite their indifferent form over the Christmas and New Year period, the North London outfit sit just four points adrift of joint-leaders Liverpool and Manchester United in the Premier League table.

However, Jose Mourinho is equally interested in ending the club's 13-year wait for a trophy, something which will likely lead to him selecting a strong XI against the Championship side.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Tottenham's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the all-London showdown.

Gareth Bale

Status: Out
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: January 10 (vs. Marine)

Bale was forced off in the EFL Cup victory over Stoke City before Christmas and played no part in the fixtures against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leeds United. Mourinho has since conceded that the Real Madrid loanee will be sidelined for "a few weeks" with a calf problem.

Giovani Lo Celso

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Having sustained a hamstring injury against Leicester City on December 20, Lo Celso has been ruled out of action for the foreseeable future. The Argentine is unlikely to return until the middle part of the month.

TOTTENHAM'S SUSPENSION LIST

Matt Doherty

Doherty will sit out the game on Tuesday night due to a one-match suspension, punishment which has been enforced courtesy of receiving two yellow cards against Leeds at the weekend.
