Result: South Africa come from behind to see off Mozambique

South Africa make a winning start to their African Nations Championship campaign by coming from behind to beat Mozambique.

South Africa have got their African Nations Championship campaign off to a winning start by coming from behind against Mozambique in Cape Town.

The tournament hosts went a goal down with just 11 minutes gone, as Mozambique took a shock lead through Luisa Diogo.

Diogo collected the ball on the edge of the area, before getting a shot away which was heavily deflected into the back of the net.

South Africa were soon level, however, as the referee awarded a penalty as a result of Bryce Moon being brought down by Chico Muchanga when bearing down on goal.

Bernard Parker stepped up to take the resulting spot kick and scored to bring Bafana Bafana level before half time.

Goron Igesund's side completed the comeback just before the hour in style, as Hlompho Kekana unleashed a shot from 35 yards out that flew past Soarito in the Mozambique goal.

Siphiwe Tshabalala added a third for the home side on 82 minutes, as South Africa got their Championship campaign off to a winning start.
