Alex McLeish: 'I want Scotland to be flexible'

McLeish: 'I want Scotland to be flexible'
Boss Alex McLeish says that he wants his Scotland side to be "flexible" as the Tartan Army prepare to face Hungary on Tuesday night.

Scotland boss Alex McLeish has suggested that he is focusing on trying to earn a good result against Hungary over blooding more youngsters.

Last week, McLeish handed debuts to four players as Scotland succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to Costa Rica in his first game in charge since returning for his second stint as manager of the Tartan Army.

McLeish has said that he wants his team to become "flexible" but admits that his main focus is trying to return to winning ways before the summer.

At a press conference, the 59-year-old told reporters: "We want to try and get a good result with a good performance. Obviously that is encouraging and gives the players evidence that they're on the track to go where we want to go.

"There's a chance it'll be the same system. We want to be flexible. We have to be ready to change tactics at any given moment. I want to get the players used to playing different formations and different styles."

Grant Hanley, Scott McTominay and Matt Ritchie have all pulled out of the squad for the game in Budapest.
