Russia's sports minister Vitaly Mutko says that his country will be fined by UEFA over the crowd trouble at Euro 2016.

Russia's sports minister Vitaly Mutko has admitted that his country is likely to face a fine from UEFA after violent scenes marred their 1-1 draw with England at Euro 2016.

Reports suggest that Three Lions fans were forced to flee the stadium in Marseille after a group of Russian supporters rushed them.

Addressing the incident, Mutko has conceded that Russia is likely to be penalised but pledged to investigate the controversy further.

"We will have a fine from UEFA, so I understand. We behaved incorrectly," the R-Sport news agency quotes him as saying, adding that he believes there were "many nuances" to the incident.

The opening fixtures of Euro 2016 have been marred by crowd trouble, with reports of England fans clashing with police and rival supporters over three days in France.
