Spanish attacker Samuel Garcia joins Russian side Rubin Kazan following just one season with La Liga outfit Villarreal.

Samuel Garcia has swapped Spanish outfit Villarreal for Russia's Rubin Kazan.

The 25-year-old only joined Villarreal from Malaga in the summer of 2015, but has moved on to Rubin after struggling to make his mark at El Madrigal.

Samuel has joined former boss Javi Gracia, who managed the attacker during his time at Malaga.

"I'm familiar with the staff, I've met the leadership of the club and I know there are a lot of good teams in Russia. Rubin beat Barcelona, which says a lot," Football Espana quotes Garcia as saying.

"I'll do everything possible to achieve the best results, to score as much as possible and get as many assists as possible and to play for the team, because football is a team game."

Samuel will wear the No.77 shirt for the Russian Premier League club.
