A report claims that 20-year-old Marco Asensio, who is currently on loan at Espanyol, will be given a first-team role at Real Madrid next season.

Marco Asensio has reportedly been earmarked for the Real Madrid first team next season.

The 20-year-old agreed to join Los Blancos from Mallorca in 2014, but spent the second half of last season on loan at his former club, before moving to Espanyol on loan last summer.

According to AS, Espanyol were keen to secure the attacker's services for another season, but Real Madrid intend to recall the Spaniard and give him first-team football in the 2016-17 campaign.

Asensio signed a six-year contract at Los Blancos in December 2014.
