Real Madrid are reportedly keen on signing a new striker during the January transfer window in a bid to improve their return in front of goal.

Real Madrid have reportedly decided to sign a new striker for a cut-price fee during the January transfer window.

Zinedine Zidane's team are currently eight points off the pace in La Liga, while Los Blancos are also likely to only qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League as runners-up.

Real have failed to score more than three goals in a match all season and according to Sport, president Florentino Perez has given the green light for business to take place at the start of 2018.

However, it has been suggested that Real are only looking for attackers who can act as backup to Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, who have both struggled this season.

Real have conducted similar business in the past, with Emmanuel Adebayor spending five months on loan at the Bernabeu in 2011 where he scored seven goals from nine starts and 12 substitute appearances.
