Rangers to make Ianis Hagi loan move permanent?

Rangers are reportedly eager to make Ianis Hagi's loan move permanent for £4.3m, despite alleged interest from European heavyweights Real Madrid and Lazio.

Rangers are reportedly ready to make Ianis Hagi's loan deal permanent by triggering the option-to-buy clause in his contract.

The 21-year-old joined Rangers on loan from Genk in January and has already made an impact at the club, scoring three goals and creating two more in 12 appearances across all competitions.

European giants such as Real Madrid and Lazio have also been credited with an interest in the Romania international, but his legendary father Gheorghe Hagi has talked up the possibility of him staying at Ibrox, despite there being "no discussion" between the clubs yet.

"At this moment, there has been no discussion between Rangers and Genk. It is static and there is no movement.
As everyone knows, he is on loan at Rangers and they have an option to buy him," Hagi is quoted as saying by the Daily Record.

"There is no deadline for Rangers. They can wait as long as they like.
He's on loan in Scotland until the summer. I know the press wants to know what's happening with him, but he is very calm about his future.
He wanted to sign for a big team and he's at a huge club, strong in Europe - Rangers are an extraordinary club with a winning mentality.

"Ianis is at my house with me and has been for the past month. He is training very well. If he was recalled and had to play a match tomorrow, he would do very well.
He has a training programme from Rangers and he sticks to it 100%. He sends them his data and is never off his bike in the house."

Rangers are understood to have the option to buy Hagi for £4.3m.
