Real Madrid have announced that Luka Modric has agreed a new four-year deal with the Spanish giants.

The 31-year-old midfielder, who joined the club from Tottenham Hotspur in 2012, will be tied down to the club until June 2020 when he puts pen to paper.

The Croatia international has made 180 appearances for Los Blancos over the past four years and in that time has scored 11 goals.

Modric has also contributed to Madrid's bulging trophy cabinet having helped the team scoop two Champions League titles, two UEFA Super Cups, the Copa del Rey, the Spanish Super Cup and the Club World Cup.

The news comes six days after Toni Kroos signed a deal until 2022 at the Bernabeu.
