Spain midfielder Isco denies that he considered leaving Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.

Real Madrid midfielder Isco has insisted that he 'did not consider leaving' his current club in the summer transfer window.

The Spain international was strongly linked with a move away from the Bernabeu in August and it is understood that he came close to joining Tottenham Hotspur on loan in the latter stages of the window.

However, the 24-year-old answered "not really" when questioned whether he genuinely thought about leaving the Spanish capital in search of regular first-team football.

"Not really, I have two years left on my Real contract, the club said nothing and I never looked for anything to leave," Isco told Marca.

Manchester United have been credited with an interest in the attacking midfielder, with head coach Jose Mourinho reportedly preparing to launch a January bid.
