AC Milan chiefs reportedly held a meeting in London with agent Jorge Mendes in July over the availability of Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo.

AC Milan have enquired about the availability and salary demands of Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo, according to reports.

The Portugal international was linked with a shock move away from the Bernabeu earlier this summer after reportedly being left upset by allegations of committing tax fraud.

Although Ronaldo is now rumoured to be close to signing a new contract, The Sun claims that Milan CEO Marco Fassone and sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli held a meeting in London this month with agent Jorge Mendes over his client's availability.

The report, however, goes on to suggest that the tone was more of questioning rather than with any firm intention behind it, and the Milan pair reportedly baulked at a minimum transfer fee of £179m and wages of £550,000 a week.

Ronaldo, under contract with Los Blancos until 2021, has scored 406 goals in 394 appearances since his 2009 move from Manchester United.
