Team News: No Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo, Toni Kroos for Real Madrid

Zinedine Zidane makes nine changes for Real Madrid's trip to Leganes.

Zinedine Zidane has made nine changes for Real Madrid's trip to minnows Leganes this evening.

As expected, Cristiano Ronaldo is strategically rested ahead of the Madrid derby this weekend, with his accumulation of four yellows making him a suspension risk.

Dani Carvajal is in a similar predicament but earns a spot on the bench, where he is joined by the likes of Karim Benzema, Isco and Luka Modric.

Gareth Bale and Toni Kroos are also absent for the trip to the outskirts of the Spanish capital, with only Danilo and Nacho retaining their places in the back four following the 3-0 triumph over Alaves on Sunday.

Skipper Sergio Ramos comes back into the lineup and is joined in the back four by Marcelo, while Mateo Kovacic, Casemiro, Marco Asensio, James Rodriguez, Lucas Vazquez and Alvaro Morata all earn recalls against a side that sit four points above the relegation zone in 17th place.

For the visitors, Aiser Garitano makes three changes to the side that claimed a valuable 1-1 draw at Real Sociedad on Saturday, switching to a back five by introducing Unai Bustinza to proceedings.

Erik Moran is replaced by David Timor as partner for Ruben Perez in midfield, while Samu drops to the bench and Miguel Angel Guerrero is out as Luciano joins Gabriel and Alexander Szymanowski in providing the attacking threat.

Leganes: Herrerin; Tito, Bustinza, Siovas, Mantovani, Rico; Timor, Ruben Perez; Szymanowski, Luciano, Gabriel
Subs: Champagne, Machis, Bueno, Kone, Samuel, Insua, Unai Lopez

Real Madrid: Navas; Danilo, Ramos, Nacho, Marcelo; Kovacic, Casemiro, James; Asensio, Morata, Vasquez
Subs: Casilla, Carvajal, Pepe, Benzema, Mariano, Modric, Isco
