Monday's Real Madrid transfer talk news roundup: Kalidou Koulibaly, Sergio Reguilon, Gareth Bale

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer talk for Real Madrid on Monday, September 7.

The summer transfer window has now begun, with rumours and speculation continuing to swirl as Real Madrid eye possible reinforcements.

Florentino Perez oversaw a significant overhaul of his squad last summer before focusing more on youth in January. As is always the case with Madrid, though, some of the biggest names in football continue to be linked, even in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news of possible comings and goings at the Bernabeu.

Monday morning's Real Madrid transfer talk news roundup:

Kalidou Koulibaly agent 'in England to negotiate Manchester City move'

Kalidou Koulibaly's agent has reportedly arrived in Manchester with the view to negotiating a move to Manchester City.

The Senegal international is thought to be a leading target for the Citizens during this summer's transfer window, but Napoli are refusing to sell unless their valuation - thought to be as high as £90m - is met.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the centre-back's agent Fali Ramadani has travelled to England in the hope of securing a move for his client to the Etihad Stadium.

City have already boosted their back line ahead of next season with the signing of Nathan Ake from Bournemouth.

Head coach Pep Guardiola is still believed to be keen on at least one more defender arriving at the club before the October deadline, though, as they look to wrestle the Premier League title back from Liverpool next term.

Koulibaly, who has previously been linked with Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid, still has three years left to run on his contract in Naples.

Jose Mourinho 'personally calls Sergio Reguilon in attempt to hijack deal'

Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly personally called Sergio Reguilon in an attempt to beat his old side Manchester United to the Real Madrid left-back.

The 23-year-old impressed out on loan at Sevilla last season and was a key figure as Julen Lopetegui's side triumphed in the Europa League.

Reguilon has been subject of interest from multiple Premier League clubs this summer, with United thought to hold the advantage, but OkDiario reports that Mourinho has approached the player directly to explain why he should pick Spurs instead.

The publication claims that the Portuguese followed Reguilon's progress closely in 2019-20 and "sees him as a more than valid player to reinforce" at left-back, where he would likely usurp Ben Davies as first choice.

Although United are thought to have already submitted a £27m bid for the Spaniard, Madrid are said to have preference for sending him out on loan this season rather than sanction a permanent exit.

Arsenal and Juventus have also been credited with an interest.
