Real Madrid’s recent manager history – how have they fared?

Zinedine Zidane lost just 16 matches during his spell in charge.

Julen Lopetegui was sacked as manager of Real Madrid on Monday evening in the wake of the club’s humiliating 5-1 El Clasico defeat to Barcelona.

Press Association Sport takes a look at how the club’s last five managers have fared during their time with the Spanish giants.

The current Newcastle manager was only in charge of Los Blancos for 25 games, of which the side won 17 and lost just three.

Despite the statistics, Benitez was in charge for a humiliating 4-0 defeat at home to rivals Barcelona and the club was suspended from the Copa del Rey for fielding an ineligible player, who was brought on and then substituted once the mistake was realised.

In charge: 3 June 2015 – 4 January 2016
