Result: Real Madrid through to Copa del Rey final

Real Madrid confirm their appearance in the Copa del Rey final with a 2-0 win over Atletico Madrid in the second leg at Vicente Calderon.

Real Madrid have eased past Atletico Madrid 2-0 in the Copa del Rey semi-final second leg to confirm their place in the final.

Cristiano Ronaldo's brace – both from the penalty spot – gave Carlo Ancelotti's side a 5-0 aggregate win against their fierce local rivals, as they exacted a measure of revenge following last year's final defeat to Atleti at Santiago Bernabeu.

Ronaldo scored his opening spot kick after seven minutes before Gareth Bale was brought down for the Portuguese forward to add to his tally.

The Ballon d'Or winner calmly slotted home his 34th goal of the campaign to give Los Blancos a healthy lead against Diego Simeone's men at the break.

Ronaldo was hit with a lighter on the side of his head as he made his way off the pitch following the half-time whistle, and the Portugal international had to receive treatment.

Bale went close with a free kick after the restart, but in truth, the game was played at almost an exhibition pace as Atleti struggled to muster anything against their illustrious neighbours.
