Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale's record vs. Barcelona

Sports Mole looks at Real Madrid ace Gareth Bale's goalscoring record against Barcelona ahead of Wednesday's cup tie at Camp Nou.

Real Madrid take on Barcelona in the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey, hoping for a repeat of the last time these sides met in the competition.

Los Blancos beat their bitter rivals 2-1 in the final at the Mestalla five years ago, but Barca have lifted the trophy every season since and are on course to do so again.

Gareth Bale was the hero of the hour in that memorable encounter in the 2013-14 season, scoring a world-class goal five minutes from time to earn his side victory.

The Welshman has struggled for form and fitness this term, but Santiago Solari may well start him in this huge match at Camp Nou.

Ahead of Wednesday's clash in Catalonia, Sports Mole looks at Bale's overall record in this fixture.

Bale's wonderful solo strike in the 2014 final is one of only two goals he has scored against Barcelona in 11 matches.

The other goal came in a 2-2 draw at Camp Nou last season as he struck a superb equaliser in the final quarter of a thrilling match.

Bale has otherwise fired blanks in eight La Liga matches and one Supercopa tie, though, while also assisting just one goal across those fixtures.

The 29-year-old has been on the winning side only three times in this fixture since arriving in the Spanish capital, drawing one and losing the other seven in a period of domestic domination for the reigning champions.
