Cristiano Ronaldo praises Atletico Madrid

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo hails Atletico Madrid ahead of Saturday's Champions League final between the two capital rivals in Lisbon.

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has praised Atletico Madrid for their "spectacular" season.

Atletico won the La Liga title last weekend with a 1-1 draw at Barcelona and will contest the final of the Champions League against Los Blancos in Lisbon on Saturday.

Ronaldo has also said that it will be "a special match" and the Portuguese is confident of victory.

"It will be a special match. It will be played in my country and it's my first Champions League final with Real Madrid, and that makes it special too," he told UEFA.com.

"We are going to play against a team like Atletico who have impressed and been spectacular. But we are going out to win and we are going to give it everything because we want La Decima.

"The team is doing well and we are confident. We are a very fast team, we play with three or four touches. We attack very quickly with very fast players up front. We score a lot of goals and that's what people want to see."

Madrid have not won the European Cup since 2002.
