Real Madrid team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Borussia Monchengladbach

Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Tuesday's Champions League clash with Borussia Monchengladbach.

Real Madrid will be looking to bounce back from a surprise Champions League defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk when they continue their Group B campaign away to Borussia Monchengladbach on Tuesday night.

Los Blancos suffered a shock 3-2 home loss to Shakhtar in their European opener last week, with the Ukrainian outfit triumphing despite being without a number of players due to a coronavirus outbreak.

Zinedine Zidane's side did return to winning ways on Saturday, though, recording an impressive 3-1 victory away to Barcelona in the first Clasico of the 2020-21 campaign.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Madrid's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Gladbach, who drew 2-2 with Inter Milan in their Group B opener.

Eden Hazard

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Muscular
Possible return date: October 27 (vs. Gladbach)

Eden Hazard has had a terrible time with injuries since arriving at the Bernabeu last summer, and he has recently been on the sidelines with a muscular problem. The Belgium international was expected to be out until the end of next month, but he has been surprisingly included in Madrid's travelling squad for this match and could feature.

Mariano Diaz

Status: Out
Type of injury: Mouth
Possible return date: Unknown

Madrid will again be without the services of Mariano Diaz for this match as the forward recently underwent surgery for tonsillitis, which saw him lose eight kilograms in weight during the recovery progress. Diaz has now returned to training but is still working his way back to full fitness.

Dani Carvajal

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Dani Carvajal is expected to spend the next four weeks on the sidelines recovering from a knee injury, with the Spaniard damaging his medial collateral ligament during a training session.

Alvaro Odriozola

Status: Out
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: Unknown

Alvaro Odriozola has missed Madrid's last four matches with a calf injury that he picked up during a training session earlier this month. The issue is not thought to be serious, but he has not been included in the squad.

Martin Odegaard

Status: Out
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: Unknown

Madrid will again be without the services of Martin Odegaard on Tuesday due to a calf injury, and it is currently unclear when the Norway international might be available for selection.

Nacho

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: Unknown

Nacho had to be replaced in the latter stages of the first half against Barca after picking up a knock, and the versatile defender will not be travelling to Germany for the European match.
