Reading announce the signing of Liam Moore from Leicester City on a four-year deal.

Reading have announced the signing of Liam Moore from Leicester City on a four-year deal.

The defender came through the ranks at the King Power Stadium, and after making his senior debut in 2011, had loan spells at Bradford City, Brentford and Bristol City.

The 23-year-old failed to break into Leicester's Premier League title-winning squad last season and has now left the champions to join the Royals.

Manager Jaap Stam told the club's official website: "Liam is the type of defender who can play high up the pitch because he has pace and he can cover distances quickly should the opposition play long balls over the top or try to get in behind the backline.

"He is comfortable on the ball and can play it out from the back, he is an aggressive defender and good in one-on-one situations. I'm really pleased he has joined our squad at Reading."

Moore will wear the number 16 shirt.
